Ashdod Real Estate & Properties
Ashdod is the fifth largest city in Israel and is one of the very important regional industrial centers of the country. The city, which was recently incorporated, has gone through a very good industrial development and has a good share of the country’s total economy. Hence, there are a wide range of settlements and housing in the city. Owing to these reasons, the real estate business is finely on the move, in the city.
Following a major development plan in the city of Ashdod, the population increased rapidly and so did the land values. The development brought forth a very important factor for real estates, the traffic facilities. One most important thing in Ashdod is its connectivity and traffic. Traffic flow is relatively free in this city compared to other cities of Israel. This remains as the main reason for settlements in the city. In the recent years, land values have grown to reasonably high prices and hence the resale prices have also increased.
The port of Ashdod is the largest in the country and accounts for about sixty percent of the country’s total imports. Thus, the city has a very good economic value and this being the reason for the large and varied settlements, in and around the city. The majority of the population here comprises of the middle class people. Hence people opt for apartments, rather than individual properties. Moreover the total population of about two hundred thousand is made to occupy in the 60 square km of the city. Therefore the density is higher and hence the number of apartments is also higher.
Like many other Israeli cities, Ashdod comprises of a large number of immigrant population. About 35% of the populations are new immigrants, who paved way for the increased profit of the real estate businessmen in the city. Property rates have marginally increased in the major settlement areas of the Rova Zayin neighborhood which houses a large number of the Haredi community. Most recently, a large number of multi-storey apartments are raised up in the Netanya neighborhood, which is turning out to be a major housing area in the city.
Basically an industrial city, Ashdod houses a large number of industries and factories. Hence private homes are lesser in number. Real estate business is a bit low in this city compared to the more profitable cities of Israel.
